Mississippi State Dominates Vandy at CWS to Win National Title

Mississippi State’s baseball team is the national champion.  For a night anyway, the Bulldogs and their legion of maroon-clad fans turned TD Ameritrade Park into “Starkville North,” or maybe…”Steakville?” 

Will Bednar and Landon Sims combined on a one-hitter and the Bulldogs won their first national championship in any sport with a 9-0 rout of Vanderbilt in the deciding third game of the College World Series finals. 

Bednar, who was pitching on three days’ rest, did not allow a hit over six innings and was named Most Outstanding Player of the CWS.
