Mickey Joseph Arrested After Alleged Domestic Assault

Mickey Joseph was arrested by Lincoln police yesterday afternoon after an alleged domestic assault.

Nebraska’s interim football coach for the last nine games of the season was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and strangulation.  Police were called to Joseph’s home around 2 p.m. and later arrested the 54-year old at another location.

He was being held in the Lancaster County Jail.  Further details weren’t released.

Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts issued a statement saying that Joseph had been placed on administrative leave.

Nebraska coach Matt Rhule had not announced a decision on whether Joseph would be part of his coaching staff.
