McGowens, Nembhard Win Weekly Freshman Honors

In men’s college basketball, a pair of freshmen from Nebraska and Creighton received weekly honors today.  Bryce McGowens of the Huskers and the Bluejays’ Ryan Nembhard won Freshman of the Week honors from the Big Ten and Big East, respectively. 

McGowens averaged 27 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as NU went 1-1 last week.  Nembhard averaged 13 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds per game, helping the Jays win their first two games of the season. 

Nebraska will host Creighton Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in a Gavitt Tipoff Games matchup that will be nationally televised on FS1.
