The honors continued on Tuesday for Bryce McGowens of the Nebraska men’s basketball team. He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was a third-team pick by both the league’s coaches and media.
McGowens became the first Nebraska player to receive the all-freshman team recognition since the Huskers joined the conference in 2011. Also Tuesday, McGowens was tabbed as the Big Ten’s Newcomer of the Year by the Associated Press.
McGowens leads all freshman in the nation in scoring as the 6-foot-7 guard is averaging 17.2 points per game.
