Nebraska and Illinois both enter their football game Saturday in Lincoln coming off their first wins of the season.

The Fighting Illini are 1-3 after a 23-20 victory at Rutgers, while the Huskers downed Penn State 30-23 to improve to 1-2.

In Nebraska’s win, redshirt freshman Luke McCaffrey was impressive in his first career start.  He completed 13-of-21 pass attempts for 152 yards and a touchdown and rushed 13 times for 67 yards and another score.

Following yesterday’s practice McCaffrey was asked if there’s anything he’d like to do better this Saturday against Illinois.  “Yeah, there’s always an ability to just kind of make things a little cleaner from the quarterback standpoint, to just run a little more efficiently,” McCaffrey said.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 11 a.m.  The pre-game starts at 6 on News Talk 900 KJSK and will be joined at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
