Markowski, Shelley Earn Second-Team All-Big Ten

Nebraska’s Alexis Markowski and Jaz Shelley were recognized Tuesday when the Big Ten announced its annual women’s basketball awards.
Markowski was tabbed the Freshman of the Year in the conference. Markowski earned second-team All-Big Ten honors, as did Shelley who was also selected to the league’s all-defensive team.
Markowski leads NU in scoring and rebounding, with averages of 13 points and 7.9 boards per game. Shelley is the only woman in the conference’s top 20 in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocked shots.
