Markowski and Potts Star, Weidner Returns as Huskers Romp

Alexis Markowski set Nebraska’s career record with her 41st double-double as the Huskers rolled to an 88-48 season-opening win over Omaha Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. 

Markowski had 14 points and 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes.  Natalie Potts, the 2024 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, matched Markowski with 14 points, adding six rebounds. 

Humphrey’s Allison Weidner chipped in 11 points, three rebounds and two steals in her return to the starting lineup after a 55-game absence following two season-ending knee injuries.  Freshman guard Britt Prince had 10 points and dished out a game-high five assists. 

NU entertains Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at 1 p.m.
