Lubick: Huskers Offense Showing Improvement

As Nebraska football gets ready to host Buffalo this Saturday, offensive coordinator Matt Lubick saw improvement from his unit in the win over Fordham.  Lubick said that included the offensive line’s pass protection, allowing the Huskers to throw the ball downfield better last Saturday.

One area that he says is getting better but still needs to be more consistent is the receivers blocking on the perimeter.  “Omar Manning showed flashes,” Lubick said. “Wyatt (Liewer) showed flashes; he’s probably one of our better blockers.  Samori (Toure) – we’re asking him to to do some things that he didn’t have to do in his previous program (Montana) and he’s kind of just learning something.  Sometimes it’s not just blocking somebody, but knowing who to block.  He’s getting better at it every day.”

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.  Pregame coverage starts at 10:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK and will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
