A long wait was worth it for Longhorns fans last night at the College World Series.  After a weather delay pushed the first pitch back to 9:45 p.m. Texas stayed alive with a 6-2 victory over Virginia.

Zach Zubia broke the game open with a three-run double in the ninth inning.  Texas will play Mississippi State in the Bracket 2 final tonight at 6 p.m.  The Longhorns need to win tonight and again tomorrow to reach the best-of-three finals.

That’s the same scenario facing Vanderbilt, also 2-1 in Omaha.  The Commodores face 2-0 NC State today at 1 p.m., with Vandy needing victories today and tomorrow to make the finals that begin Monday.
