Columbus High is sending 11 wrestlers to the state tournament, while nine Lakeview grapplers and two from Scotus will compete in Omaha.

The Discoverers had four wrestlers – Adrian Bice, Blayze Standley, Anthony DeAnda and Kasten Grape – win gold medals at the A-3 district meet on Saturday.  As a team, CHS won its fifth straight district title.

Two Vikings, Lucien Engel and Bradyn Kucera, were B-1 district champions as Lakeview finished second in the team standings.

Scotus had no district champs, but Evan Hand and Nick Taylor both just made state with fourth place finishes. As a team, the Shamrocks were 12th in the C-2 district.  David City won that district with a whopping eight gold medals and two other state qualifiers.

Aquinas was the C-3 district champion and 12 Monarchs, including three gold medalists, are going to Omaha. In a competitive D-2 district, Howells-Dodge was team champ and has six wrestlers going to state, Palmer was a close second with a half-dozen state qualifiers and East Butler was third and will be represented in Omaha by seven wrestlers.
