Local Scores From Thursday’s Prep Basketball Openers

Columbus High was swept, while the Lakeview and Scotus basketball teams split their season openers last night.
The Discoverers clubs played host to highly-ranked Bellevue West squads. The Columbus boys were downed 81-30 by the No. 1 Thunderbirds. The CHS girls fell to fifth-ranked Bellevue West 65-36.
At Lakeview High, the Vikings boys fell to Crete 56-34 while the Lady Vikes topped the Cardinals 43-31.
At the Dowd Activity Center, the Scotus boys edged Hastings St. Cecilia 48-47, while the Shamrocks girls were shaded 40-38 in overtime.
