Local, Area College Soccer Teams Open Seasons Today

In college soccer, Central Community College’s men and women open their seasons today, when they welcome Northeastern Junior College to the Raider Soccer Field.  The women’s match kicks off at 2 p.m., followed by the men’s tilt at 4:30. 

Tonight, the Nebraska women open their regular season by hosting Western Illinois.  It’s a 7:05 p.m. kickoff at Hibner Stadium.  The Creighton women welcome Montana to Morrison Stadium for a 7 p.m. season lid-lifter. 

Also in soccer, the CU men’s team has been picked by league coaches to finish third in the Big East.  And Bluejays senior Diego Gutierrez was tabbed yesterday as the preseason Co-Offensive Player of the Year.
