Lexi Rodriguez More Confident, Trying to Become a Better Leader

Nebraska sophomore libero Lexi Rodriguez says she’s more confident this year as the Huskers prepare for the volleyball season. However, on KJSK’s Sports Nightly Monday Rodriguez admitted there will be more pressure and expectations on her after she hauled in several honors last season, when she was named AVCA National Freshman of the Year and a first-team All-American.

She was asked about her focus this summer.  “I would say two things.  Obviously, skill-wise I was really trying to get a better serve and get more consistent in my other skills,” Rodriguez said.  “I was also trying to become a better leader for the team and really channel the inner-libero style and kind of bring that energy out on the court a little more.”

NU volleyball will hold Fan Day this Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Devaney Sports Center.  The Huskers will be back there Saturday at 6 p.m. for the Red-White Scrimmage.
