Lasso Finishes Second in Norfolk, Arndt Takes Fourth at Elks CC

Sarah Lasso of the Columbus High girls golf team finished in a tie for second as the Class A state tournament wrapped up today. 

Lasso fired a 2-over par, 74 at Norfolk Country Club for a two-day total of 10-over, 154.  That was three strokes behind Nicole Kolbas of Lincoln Pius X, who shot a 79 today, hanging on to win her third consecutive state title.  In the team standings, the Discoverers carded a 751 and were eighth, while Lincoln Southwest topped the 12-team field.    

Scotus’ Cecilia Arndt finished fourth in the Class C tournament at Elks Country Club,  Arndt shot a 7-over, 79 today for a total of 18-over, 162.  Olivia Lovegrove of Lincoln Christian cruised to a state title with a two-day total of 1-under par, 143, winning by 13 strokes.  As a team, Scotus took third place at 749, finishing 61 strokes behind champion Broken Bow. 

In the Class B tourney at Monument Shadows in Gering, Lakeview’s Hannah Kitt tied for 28th after shooting a 102 today for a total 193.  Her Vikings teammate Grace Berkeland tied for 54th after carding a 113 for a total of 222.
