Jacob Sjuts tossed a no-hitter to lead the Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors to an 11-0 romp over Pierce in the B5 area tournament final at Pierce last night.

Staked to a 6-0 lead after the top of the first, Sjuts cruised through the first three innings by retiring all nine batters he faced.  Lakeview added five runs in the top of the third.  An error by Bank of the Valley’s infield leading off the bottom of the fourth cost Sjuts a perfect game.  He finished with a flourish, striking out the side in the fifth.

Lakeview went 4-0 in the area tourney and will take a 21-1 record into its second straight Class B state tournament appearance.  It begins on Saturday in Broken Bow.
