Lakeview’s Legion baseball teams will hit the road today to face Wisner/Pilger Howells/Dodge.  The two games will be played at Dodge after being rained out June 18th at Wisner. 

Both Lakeview clubs are coming off a home victory over Battle Creek last Friday.  Jacob Sjuts and Kolby Blaser combined on a one-hitter to lead the Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds to a 5-0 win. 

Sjuts went six innings, giving up one hit and four walks, while posting 11 strikeouts.  Blaser struck out the side in the top of the seventh.  Blaser also stroked two doubles among his three hits, scored two runs and had a stolen base.  Adam Van Cleave went 3-for-4 with a run scored.  The speedy leadoff hitter tripled and stole a base to help the Reds improve to 3-0. 

In the second game, the Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors out-slugged Battle Creek 12-8.  Michael Rerucha was 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and three runs.  Ian Gibbs went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. 

The win evened the Seniors mark at 2-2.
