Lakeview’s volleyball team not only opens its season tonight. The Vikings will also open a new gym at the high school when they host Schuyler.
Coach KC Belitz says his team is “so grateful” to the Lakeview community for the facility. He was asked if it has been an adjustment for his players during practice. “It is a much bigger visual picture when you’re serving,” Beltiz acknowledged. “I haven’t really seen any issues with that. We served well in our scrimmage generally, and the ones we missed weren’t long which is what you would be worried about. I don’t think it’s an issue competitively and I think it certainly is…you just feel good about walking in there and playing in that space.”
The Lakeview-Schuyler match will be broadcast tonight on KLIR 101. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Meanwhile, the Scotus volleyball club is 3-1 going into its home match at 7:15 tonight against Omaha Concordia.
