Lakeview Swept by DC West, Visits GI Northwest Tonight

In high school basketball at Lakeview, the Vikings were swept by DC West last night.
The Falcons won the boys’ game 59-34, following a 43-34 victory in the girls’ contest. The Lakeview boys hit 9 of 40 shots from the field, including 3 of 18 from 3-point range. The Vikings did make 13 of 16 free throws, but slipped to 2-8 on the season.
The difference in the girls game was the Falcons collecting eight 3-pointers, compared to five for the Lady Vikes. Josie Bentz and Taylor Helms each had 11 points, but Lakeview fell to 6-4.
Both Vikings teams play at Grand Island Northwest tonight.
