Lakeview Softball on Wrong End of One-Hitter in Lid-Lifter

Lakeview’s softball team was held to one hit in the Vikings season opener last night, an 8-0 home loss in six innings to Grand Island Central Catholic. 

A single by Lakeview first baseman Emma Finecy was the only hit the Vikings could muster.  Lakeview also received only one walk, while the visiting Crusaders did not commit an error. 

On the mound, Vikings starter Cali Bentz pitched a complete game, but surrendered eight runs on 11 hits, including a home run.  She walked two and struck out eight. 

Lakeview travels to Lincoln tomorrow to play in the Freeman High Invitational tournament.
