Eli Osten went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs to lead the Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors in a 15-3 rout of Pender last night.

Sam Kwapnioski also helped Lakeview win its season opener at Pawnee Park Field by going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.  Pender took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second, but Lakeview answered with nine runs in its half of the second inning and run-ruled the visitors in five frames.  The Seniors made their first-ever trip to the state tournament last year.

The Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds fell to Pender 5-2 in their season opener.  Both teams scored two runs in the second inning, and it remained tied until  Pender put together a three-run fifth. Sam Olmer had three of the Junior Reds’ six hits and collected their lone RBI.

Lakeview’s clubs will visit West Point tomorrow night, when Columbus’ American Legion squads will open their seasons at Hastings.
