Lakeview Seniors, Junior Reds Win League Tourney Tilts

Both Lakeview American Legion baseball teams have advanced to their league tournament semifinals after posting wins at Pawnee Park Field last night. 

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors improved to 11-0 with a 5-1 victory over West Point.  Lakeview starter Jacob Sjuts allowed one run on three hits over five innings, walking two and striking out eight.  Jordan Kracl finished with two scoreless innings, giving up one hit and a walk.  At the plate, Kracl went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.  In Friday’s 7 p.m. semifinal, Bank of the Valley will host Pender, which routed Hooper-Scribner 10-2 last night. 

Earlier, the Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds also won 10-2, finishing a win over Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells that had been suspended by rain and lightning Monday.  Lakeview will go on the road to face Arlington in the Junior tourney’s semifinals tomorrow night.
