Lakeview Seniors Edge Tekamah-Herman in League Tourney
The Lakeview Bank of the Valley Seniors got by Tekamah-Herman 6-5 Sunday evening.
The home win for Lakeview came in the first round of the Ralph Bishop League tournament. The seventh-seeded visitors scored three runs in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead. But, No. 2 seed Lakeview responded with three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the victory.
Bank of the Valley starter Parker Osten got the win, giving up five runs, all unearned, over six innings. He allowed four hits, including a home run, and walked four, striking out 11 batters. Eli Kreikemeier pitched a scoreless inning of relief to get the save. Lakeview’s Seniors are 7-4 and will meet No. 3 seed Arlington Tuesday at West Point.
Arlington advanced yesterday by shutting out the Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells Seniors 3-0. Meanwhile, the W-P/D-H Juniors fell to Arlington 12-7 Saturday in the opening round of the league’s junior tourney.
