Lakeview Seniors Blank Albion to Reach Area Tourney Championship

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors are 3-0 in the B5 area tournament at Pierce heading into tonight’s championship. 

Cooper Tessendorf pitched Lakeview to a 7-0 win last night over Albion.  Tessendorf hurled all seven innings, allowing just three hits and no walks, while striking out nine.  Lakeview improved to 20-1 on the season. 

In today’s championship at 5:30 p.m. Bank of the Valley will meet the host club, Pierce, which improved to 2-1 in the tourney by beating Wayne 11-3 in six innings last night.  Pierce needs to defeat Bank of the Valley twice tonight to keep Lakeview from making the Class B state tournament for the second straight year.
