Lakeview’s softball team took a nine-game winning streak into its game at Seward last night. It was supposed to be a triangular, but Schuyler canceled its trip so the Vikings and Bluejays both won by forfeit over the Warriors.
In the only game played, Lakeview was edged by a tough Seward club 7-6. Both teams scored twice in the first inning, before the Vikings scored two more runs in the top of the third to take a 4-2 lead. The Bluejays put together a five-run fourth frame to pull ahead 7-4. Lakeview scored twice in the sixth, but came up short. The Vikings are now 13-4 and will visit Aurora on Thursday.
In other games Monday, North Bend Central downed Highway 91 8-3, and Central City won twice: 10-2 over Southern Valley/Alma and 12-2 over Ord.
