Lakeview Earns Third Place in State Volleyball Tourney

Lakeview finished third in the Class C1 state volleyball tournament. 

The Vikings defeated Lincoln Lutheran in three sets in Saturday’s third place match.  Lakeview won the first two sets 25-22 and took the final set 25-19. 

Lilly Rowe led the Lady Vikes with 14 kills and tied for the team high with 19 digs.  Lakeview went 30-6 on the season, including 2-1 in their first state tourney appearance since 1981. 

In the C1 championship match, Wahoo edged St. Paul in five sets. 

Clarkson/Leigh, which lost to eventual C2 champion Lutheran High Northeast 3-2 in Friday’s semifinals, fell to Overton 3-0 in Saturday’s third place match.  The Patriots wound up at 22-9.
