Lakeview Boys Golf Team, Two Shamrocks Make State
The Lakeview boys golf team won the B-2 district tournament yesterday as all five Vikings qualified for state.
Lakeview carded a team score of 342 at River Wilds Golf Course in Blair. Scotus just missed qualifying as a team, although two individual Shamrocks will play at state. The top three district teams advanced to state and Scotus was fourth at 358, ten strokes behind third place Bennington.
Individually, the Vikings were led by Max Fremarek who shot a 79 and placed third. Nick Fleming paced the Shamrocks with an 85 to finish seventh. His teammate Patrick Arndt will join him in the state tourney after carding an 86. That tied Arndt for tenth place with Lakeview’s Trevor Sloup, while the Vikings Kurt Schneider’s 86 was good for ninth.
Boone Central placed tenth at 424, while Schuyler had a team score of 477 to finish eleventh out of 12 teams.
