Lakeview Boys Finish 10th in State Track Meet
The Lakeview boys earned a top 10 finish as the A-B session of the state track and field meet concluded yesterday. The Vikings 27 points for good for 10th place in the Class B boys team standings.
Landon Ternus earned a silver medal in the discus and 8th in the 200 meters yesterday, to go with his fourth place medal in the shot put on Wednesday. Adam Van Cleave also collected three medals, getting second in the 200, seventh in the 100 and was part of Lakeview’s seventh-place finish in the 400 relay. Eli Osten added an eighth-place finish in the discus.
In Class A, Columbus High’s Carsen Marking was seventh in the pole vault and Caleb Mulder was seventh in the 400 to account for the Discoverers’ four points. Josie Garrett placed sixth in the 100 hurdles to help the CHS girls end with seven points.
In Class B girls action, Blake Barcel led Lakeview’s girls to six points, taking sixth in the 400 and helping the Vikings’ 400 relay team earn sixth place. Grace Mustard added a point to the Scotus girls total of three points with an eighth-place finish in the 100 hurdles.
The state meet for Classes C and D is today and tomorrow. Don Strecker’s updates will begin around 11 a.m. both days on KLIR 101 and KZ-100.
