Lakeview, Area Volleyball Teams Make State Tourney

Lakeview advanced to the state volleyball tournament by sweeping Fairbury in the district finals. 

The Vikings beat the Jeffs 25-12, 25-18, 25-14.  The Lady Vikes are 30-4 and earned the number 4 seed in the state tourney.  Lakeview takes on fifth-seeded Syracuse Wednesday at 3 p.m. 

In C2, Clarkson/Leigh swept Thayer Central in a district final.  The Patriots meet Sutton at state Thursday at 7 p.m. In D1, Howells-Dodge beat Heartland 3-0 and will play BDS Thursday at 1 p.m.  Nebraska Christian swept Creighton with the Eagles set to meet Overton Thursday at 3 p.m.  In D2, Humphrey St. Francis topped Sioux County 3-0 and the Flyers open state tourney action Thursday at 9 a.m. against Anselmo-Merna.
