Lakeview, Area Teams Still Alive in State Legion Baseball Tourneys

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors and three area American Legion baseball teams are still playing in state tournaments today after going 1-1 this weekend. 

In the Class B state tourney at Crete, Lakeview bounced back from a 6-0 loss to Central City/Fullerton on Saturday to down Arlington 11-3 in six innings yesterday.  Central City fell to Alliance 8-2 on Sunday evening.

In elimination games today, Central City takes on host Crete at 1 p.m. while Lakeview battles Omaha Roncalli at 4 p.m.  You can hear the play-by-play of Lakeview’s game on 93.5 The Hawk. 

In the Class C state tournament at Palmer, Shelby-Osceola-Stromsburg defeated Tecumseh 5-1 on Saturday, before losing to Louisville/Weeping Water 7-4 Sunday evening.  And Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley edged Pender 3-2 Saturday night, but bowed to Dannebrog-Cairo-Boelus 9-4 last night. 

In elimination contests today, PWG meets Tecumseh at 2 p.m. and SOS plays Pender at 5 p.m.
