Kwapnioski’s Three-Homer Game Leads Lakeview to Win at State

Sam Kwapnioski smacked three home runs and had seven RBI yesterday, leading Lakeview to a 9-1 victory over Valparaiso.  Bank of the Valley’s win evened its record at 1-1 in the Senior Legion Class B state tournament in Broken Bow.  

Cooper Tessendorf got the win by hurling five innings of one-run ball.  He allowed four hits and two walks, striking out six.

Lakeview dropped Saturday’s opening round game to Waverly 8-5.  In that loss, Kwapnioski went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and three RBI.  He has scored five runs in Lakeview’s first two games. 

Bank of the Valley will meet Broken Bow in an elimination game today at 3 p.m.
