Kernels Open Third Straight State Baseball Trip vs. Wayne

Central City/Fullerton/Centura, which consolidated for baseball in 2018, makes its third straight trip to the state tournament tomorrow.
The Kernels are seeded number-3 in Nebraska’s first-ever Class C tourney. In the Class B tournament, the Kernels went 2-2 last year after going 1-2 in 2021. Central City last won a baseball championship in 1960.
In Saturday’s quarterfinals at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha, the Kernels are set to face Wayne. First pitch is at 7 p.m. on KZ-100.
