Kernels Beat Elkhorn to Stay Alive in State Baseball Tourney

Central City/Fullerton/Centura staved off elimination for a second straight day at the state baseball tournament yesterday. The Kernels downed Elkhorn 8-2.
No. 4 seed Central City will meet third-seeded Elkhorn North tonight at 7 p.m. Both teams are 2-1 in the Class B tourney.
Waverly, the No. 8 seed, is 3-0 at state after a 9-3 victory over Elkhorn North yesterday. Waverly will face second-seeded and 2-1 Omaha Skutt today at 4 p.m. The SkyHawks stayed alive by edging Beatrice 8-7 last night.
