Kyle Kasik ran for 320 yards to lead Clarkson/Leigh to a 48-20 victory over Neligh-Oakdale in the D1 state football championship at Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium.
Kasik scored six touchdowns and added a half-dozen two-point conversion runs as the senior scored all 48 points for the Patriots, who won their first state title since the co-op in 2012.
Two early fumble recoveries by the Warriors set up a pair of touchdowns as Neligh-Oakdale led 14-0 after one quarter. But, Clarkson/Leigh would tally the next 40 points to pull away.
Kasik had a whopping 45 carries in the game and wound up with 2,281 rushing yards this year. The Patriots finished with a 12-1 record, while the Warriors went 11-2.
