Ryan Kalkbrenner delivered 20 of his 22 points in the second half and Creighton held off No. 18 UConn 64-62 last night. The Bluejays won for the seventh time in eight games and clinched a top-five seed and first-round bye in the Big East Tournament next week.
Kalkbrenner’s team-high 22 points equaled his career best. The 7-foot-1 center also grabbed 10 rebounds for his fifth career double-double. The Jays are now 5-0 all-time against the Huskies.
CU closes out the regular season at home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Seton Hall.
