Kalkbrenner Honored, CU Earns No. 3 Seed in Big East Tourney
Creighton junior Ryan Kalkbrenner was named Sunday to the All-Big East First Team.
The 7-foot-1 center is the Bluejays’ top scorer, averaging 15.1 points per game. He ranks second in the nation in field goal percentage at over 70 percent. Kalkbrenner also tops the conference with 2.2 blocked shots per game.
CU senior Baylor Scheierman and sophomore Trey Alexander earned Honorable Mention.
Creighton secured the third seed in this week’s Big East tournament with an 84-70 win at DePaul on Saturday. The Jays will play Thursday at 8:30 p.m. against the winner of Wednesday’s Georgetown-Villanova matchup.
