Junior Reds Romp, Lakeview Seniors Edged in Albion

The Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds stayed unbeaten with a 16-0 romp at Albion Tuesday evening. 

Eli Osten went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and three runs scored for the Reds.  His Lakeview Juniors teammate, Cooper Tessendorf was 2-for-4 with a triple, four RBI and a run.  Each player also pitched two hitless innings in the five inning contest. 

Albion’s only hit came in the fifth off Adam Van Cleave, who was 1-for-2 at the plate with a stolen base and three runs scored.  The Junior Reds are now 7-0. 

In the Seniors contest, the Bank of the Valley Lakeview team dropped a 7-6 decision to Albion.  

Lakeview rallied late with five runs over the final two frames, scoring three runs in the seventh to take a 6-5 lead.  But, the host team scored two runs in their final at-bat for the walkoff win.  Lakeview’s Seniors fell to 4-4. 

Both Lakeview squads play at Battle Creek this evening.
