Reds Bow in State Championship, Junior Area Title Games
The Columbus Owens Wealth Advisors Reds fell to Waverly 10-0 Tuesday night in their Class B reserve league state championship.
The Reds went 3-2 in the state tournament at Elkhorn, finishing the season with an 18-12 overall record.
In Legion Class B and C Junior area championship games Tuesday night, Central City defeated O’Neill 8-4 to win the B-5 area tourney. Central City went 4-0 in the event it hosted and is 25-0 heading to the Class B Junior state tournament in Waterloo and Valley.
In the C-1 area tourney at Creighton, Albion was downed by Hartington 9-1 in the title game. Wisner-Dodge was topped by Pender 17-8 in Dodge for the C-2 area crown. And St. Paul beat Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley 17-3 in the C-5 championship at Silver Creek to make the Class C Junior state tourney in Hartington.
The Class B and C Junior state tournaments both begin on Saturday.
