Junior Blues Split DH at GI, Seniors Play Tonight

The Columbus United Federal Credit Union Junior Blues split a doubleheader at Grand Island last night, both by scores of 6-5.

In the opener, the Junior Blues trailed Five Points Bank 5-4 after two innings.  But, Connor Rausch pitched four scoreless innings of relief and got the win after Columbus scored twice in the top of the sixth.  Rausch also had four quality at-bats, with two hits and a pair of walks.

The Junior Blues also rallied late in the nightcap, scoring two runs in the sixth and another run in the seventh to tie the game at 5-all.  However, Grand Island scored a run in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.  Bohden Jedlicka had two hits and two RBI for Columbus.

The Junior Blues finished their season with a record of 10-16.

Meantime, the Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors are 11-14 with three games remaining.  The Seniors are slated to play a make-up game at Bennington tonight, before wrapping up the coronavirus-delayed campaign with a twinbill at Grand Island on Thursday.
