Junior Blues 2-1 After Opening Weekend of State Tourney

The Columbus Juniors, like their Senior counterparts, went 2-1 this weekend in their area tournament at South Sioux City.

The OneNebraska Federal Credit Union Junior Blues opened Saturday morning with an 8-0 victory over the host team.  But, top-seeded Columbus was out-slugged by third-seeded Lincoln North Star 12-8 Saturday afternoon.  The Junior Blues stayed alive Sunday, beating No. 5 seed Fremont 4-1 in an elimination game, upping its overall record to 16-11. 

Columbus will face No. 4 seed Norfolk, which is 2-0 in the tourney, tonight at 7 p.m.
