Jays Closer Steier Named Big East Pitcher of Week

Creighton closer Tommy Steier has been named the Big East Pitcher of the Week.
Steier fired five scoreless innings and picked up two saves as the Bluejays went 4-0 last week. For the season, the junior from Elkhorn ranks seventh nationally with a 0.96 ERA.
Also named to this week’s Big East Honor Roll was Jays outfielder Jared Wegner. The Kearney product went 6-for-13 with three home runs last week.
CU will take a 15-7 record into its game tonight at Kansas State.
