State Volleyball: Jaguars and Flyers Advance, Eagles Fall
Howells-Dodge and Humphrey St. Francis both swept their first round opponents in the D2 state volleyball tournament today.
The top-seeded Jaguars defeated Stuart 25-23, 25-17, 25-16, improving the Jags’ record to 27-4. The No. 3 seed Flyers downed Falls City Sacred Heart 25-22, 25-23, 25-20. St. Francis is now 26-4.
In tomorrow’s D2 semifinals, Howells-Dodge meets fourth-seeded Shelton at 9 a.m. on 93.5 The Hawk. St. Francis will battle No. 2 seed Overton on KLIR 101, with first serve set for 11 a.m.
In today’s D1 action, Nebraska Christian was swept by Norfolk Catholic. The top-seeded Knights won 26-24, 25-15, 25-20. The Eagles wound up with a 27-8 record.
In C2 first round matches tonight on 93.5 The Hawk, Clarkson/Leigh meets Archbishop Bergan at 5 p.m. and Cross County takes on Amherst at 7 p.m.
