Jackson Nominated for Armed Forces Merit Award

Nebraska linebacker Damian Jackson is one of 38 players in the nation nominated for the 2020 Armed Forces Merit Award.  It’s presented by the Football Writers Association of America. 

Jackson was one of five finalists for the award in 2019.  The junior is in his fourth season in the Husker program after serving as a Navy SEAL for four years following his high school graduation. 

Jackson, who did not play football prior to college, joined NU as a walk-on.  Coach Scott Frost announced on Monday that Jackson has been placed on scholarship this season.
