IF CU Teams Play in Fall, It Will Be Conference-Only Slate

If they play this year, Creighton’s fall sports teams will not face any non-conference foes. 

The Big East Conference announced today due to the “unprecedented and continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Big East fall sports schedules will not include any non-conference competition.” 

In fact, the league says no decision is being made at this time regarding conference play. 

In the coming weeks, the Big East says it will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions across the country.  Its update says: “All decisions regarding fall conference competition will continue to be guided first and foremost by the health and safety of all Big East campuses.” 

The news affects CU volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and cross country. 

Plans for the league’s winter and spring sports seasons are not yet affected.
