Huskers Soccer Squad Ranked No. 6 in Preseason Coaches Poll
The Nebraska soccer team is ranked sixth nationally in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll.
In 2023, the Huskers made it to the NCAA tournament for the 13th time in program history, advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time since 1999.
This season, NU returns 10 starters, including All-American Sarah Weber, who’s a two-time, All-Big Ten first-team selection. Nebraska will be bolstered by the influx of three freshmen and three transfers.
Five of the Huskers 2024 opponents are also ranked in the coaches poll released yesterday. Penn State is No. 4, Michigan State is 13th, Wisconsin is No. 19, Duke is 24th and Iowa rounds out the top 25. Following Friday night’s exhibition match at Oklahoma, Nebraska is set to open the season next Thursday at home in Hibner Stadium against Oklahoma State.
Florida State is No. 1 in the coaches preseason poll, followed by Stanford, BYU, the Nittany Lions and Clemson.
