Huskers Out-Slugged by Gators as Season Ends in Regional

In the Stillwater Regional, Nebraska’s baseball season ended Sunday with a 17-11 loss to Florida in a game that had a two-hour weather delay.

Gabe Swansen led the Huskers going 2-for-5 with a two-run homer.  His four home runs in the regional were the most by a Husker since Matt Hopper belted four in the 2003 Lincoln Regional.

The Gators broke open a close game with four runs in the sixth to take an 11-6 lead, adding six more runs in the seventh to go up 17-6.  NU scored five runs over the final two innings, but wound up going 1-2 in Stillwater and 40-22 on the season.

Last night, Florida kept rolling with a 5-2 victory over Oklahoma State, forcing a final game today to decide which team advances to the Super Regionals.
