Nebraska backup quarterback Luke McCaffrey has entered the transfer portal.

He started two games for the Huskers last season, making his first career start in a win over Penn State.  The following week, McCaffrey committed four turnovers in a loss to Illinois and Adrian Martinez took back the starting job.

McCaffrey tweeted yesterday that he struggled for weeks with his decision to transfer.

Nebraska’s offense has lost two other players who entered their names into the transfer portal yesterday: junior wide receiver Kade Warner and sophomore reserve offensive lineman Will Farniok.
