Huskers Look For Big Win Following “Brutal Loss” of Henrich

Nebraska’s football team looks to snap a 19-game losing streak against ranked opponents tomorrow.

The Huskers host No. 17 Illinois looking for their first upset of a ranked foe since a 35-32 victory over No. 22 Oregon in September of 2016.

NU will have to do it without linebacker Nick Henrich, as it was announced earlier this week he’s out for the season with a knee injury.  Appearing on Sports Nightly Thursday on News Talk 900 KJSK, linebackers coach Barrett Ruud called it a “brutal loss.”

“He’s so positive, he’s such a good leader,” Ruud said. “He’s kind of like one of those really good point guards in basketball.  They make the whole team better….It’s on the rest of the guys to step up now.”

Tomorrow’s kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.  The pregame starts at 10:30 a.m. on KJSK.  It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
