Huskers Lauenstein Stepping Away From Volleyball

Nebraska’s Whitney Lauenstein has decided to step away from playing volleyball.
Lauenstein, who started for the Huskers as a sophomore last season and earned AVCA all-region honors, announced on social media last night she needed to “continue to heal due the passing of my dad.” Her father, Ryan, died in 2021.
Head coach John Cook released a statement saying the team fully supports Whitney and her family “and hope that she will find peace and healing.”
