Huskers, Illinois Square Off With Both Coming Off Big Wins

Following an overtime win at Minnesota on Saturday, Nebraska returns to Pinnacle Bank Arena tonight to face Illinois.
Coach Fred Hoiberg says the important thing for the Huskers is to put the “big, emotional win” against the Gophers behind them. “It’s important now to come back and protect home court in this league,” Hoiberg said. He said Illinois is fast and can create steals so the Huskers “have to do a good job taking care of the basketball and keeping them out of transition.”
The Fighting Illini knocked off No. 14 Wisconsin 79-69 on Saturday.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast on News Talk 900 KJSK. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. with the pregame starting at 7.
