The Nebraska football team will try to shake off Saturday’s 52-17 loss at Ohio State this Saturday.  The Huskers’ Halloween opponent in NU’s home opener is Wisconsin.

A big focus this week will be on the status of Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz.  According to media reports, he has tested positive for COVID-19, but would be taking a second test to determine whether his first test was a false positive.  The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that Mertz’s positive test came on Saturday, after Wisconsin’s 45-7 win over Illinois on Friday night.

Mertz displayed the same accuracy passing in that game that Ohio State’s Justin Fields did against Nebraska.  Both completed 20 of 21 passes, with Mertz throwing for 248 yards and five touchdowns against the Illini.  Fields passed for 276 yards and two TDs against NU.

Saturday’s kickoff at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is at 2:30 p.m.  The pre-game show starts at 9:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK and will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
